“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Do you want to live the Christian life according to the Bible? Then you must know and follow the Word for yourself and live by it instead of your feelings. Feelings and personal experiences cannot build your faith because God designed our faith to stand on His Word.
Many people describe different sensations when they experience the power of God. Some people feel heat, while others feel cold. Some shake, and others become still. However, these experiences differ from person to person.
Therefore, you should never build your faith on feelings or personal experiences. Instead, build your faith on the Word of God. The Bible never says you must feel something before God works in you, through you, or for you. Rather, God’s Word teaches us to believe first and then receive the result by faith.
For example, the woman with the issue of blood touched the garment of Jesus, and the Bible says, “…straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague” (Mark 5:29).
Notice her testimony. She did not focus on a strange feeling. Instead, she testified that she was healed. That is the kind of testimony that matters. God wants you to believe His Word and declare the result that His grace has already provided.
Furthermore, faith comes from trusting the Word of God and acting on it. When you stand on the Word, you will experience the results that God has promised.
Dear Father, thank you for your Word that guides my life and strengthens my faith. My confidence stands on your truth, and I walk in the reality of your Word today. My faith is strong, my spirit is confident, and my life produces faith-filled results because I live by your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
