The Power Is Within You

“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11 BSB)

The scripture we just read is so profound! So the question now is: Who lives in you? Is He the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead? If your answer is “yes,” then your physical body is no longer subject to death or under its dominion; rather, your body has been energized and made alive by the Holy Spirit. The power that accomplished this is not somewhere in heaven—it is within you.

When you read Ephesians 1:19, it speaks of the immeasurable greatness of this mighty power. Then Ephesians 3:20 tells us that this power is at work in us: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

Many people describe experiences where they felt God’s power come upon them like a covering. From that feeling, it’s easy to assume that something came from outside. But if something truly came down from above and you couldn’t see it, you wouldn’t know it came from above until you felt it. Essentially, you assumed it came from above because you couldn’t physically explain the experience, even though you clearly felt something.

But the truth is deeper than that feeling. God’s power is within you and works from inside you, not from the outside. Every teaching in the New Testament shows that we are different from people of the Old Testament. Unlike them, we don’t receive power from outside—we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the New Testament reality is not about crying out for power to come down from above; it is about living with the consciousness that the Holy Spirit dwells in you with all His power, glory, and might.

When you realize this, it will transform your confidence; it will change your prayer life, because you understand that you are a carrier of divine power. Live with this mindset, and you will continually manifest the supernatural effortlessly.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank You for the Holy Spirit who lives in me. I walk with the awareness of His divine power actively working in my spirit, soul, and body. Filled with His power, I express the glory and perfection of Christ as I boldly proclaim the Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
