The same anointing of the Holy Spirit works in every believer, regardless of differences in calling, gifts, grace, or office. Though Christians may function differently in ministry and purpose, it is still the one Holy Spirit empowering all. God has anointed us in Christ and filled us with His Spirit to live victoriously and fulfill His divine purpose.
“Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God.” — 2 Corinthians 1:21
There are differences among believers, but those differences do not remove the unity we share in the Spirit. Some are called as evangelists, prophets, pastors, teachers, or apostles, while others serve in different capacities. God also distributes different gifts and graces according to His purpose. Yet, it is the same anointing of the Holy Spirit working in all.
When you received the Holy Spirit, you received the anointing of Christ. You do not need a greater anointing later because the fullness of the Spirit already came into your life when you were born again and filled with Him.
The Apostle Paul declared in 2 Corinthians 1:21 that God Himself established and anointed us in Christ. This means every believer carries the divine empowerment of God.
Some people think there is a separate experience where one is first filled with the Holy Spirit and later receives power. However, the Scriptures reveal that the Holy Spirit and power are inseparable.
Acts 10:38 says:
“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.”
This does not refer to two different anointings. Rather, being filled with the Holy Spirit means being filled with divine power.
Jesus Himself said in Acts 1:8:
“Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.”
Earlier, in Luke 24:49, He told the disciples to wait until they were “endued with power from on high,” referring to the same experience of receiving the Holy Spirit.
The coming of the Holy Spirit is the enduement with power.
When you received the Holy Spirit, you were separated unto God and consecrated through the anointing of Christ. The Spirit empowers you to serve God effectively and live according to His will.
The Holy Spirit also opens your understanding to Kingdom realities and enables you to walk in divine wisdom daily. Through His presence in you, God’s grace, blessings, and glory are revealed to others.
What a blessing it is to be filled with the Holy Ghost and walk in His power every day.
Dear Father, thank you for the anointing of the Holy Spirit that I have received. I walk in the consciousness of the grace and power of the Spirit at work in and through me. I’m empowered to live for you and fulfill your purpose. I function in the power and wisdom of the Spirit for the work of the Kingdom. Through me, your graces and blessings are ministered to others, and your glory is manifested in every place, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
